1. Even though your restoration will focus on what your soul prioritizes rather than what you *think* you want, as one human to another, I’d love to hear if there’s something specific your heart is hoping for. If there was one thing you could ask for and receive out of this process, what would it be? 

2. This process can definitely be undertaken despite chronic health issues. However, if there is acute illness or flare it’s usually best to wait. Do you have any physical illnesses significantly impacting you at this time? (And yes, please let me know if something flares up once we begin so we can pause until it subsides.)

3. At this point in my training I am not experienced enough to undertake this process for those with significant and/or acute mental health challenges. That said, there is still a significant range that is totally workable. Do you have any mental health challenges or a history of trauma that impacts you? Please be super clear about this section so I can get my teacher's full support.

4. While remarkably gentle, this work can bring up emotions and catalyze changes.  Anticipating that, do you have folks you can lean on these days including partners /friends /family /community as well as therapists /practitioners /elders or other places you experience support and solace? Your talisman is designed to be an anchor, shoring you up but I'd love to hear who (and what) else anchors you. 

5. Talismans are made with various substances which then may come in contact with your skin. Examples include coconut, honey/beeswax, nuts like almond, cornmeal, and other stones and plants. Are you allergic to contact with anything I've listed or anything known otherwise? You will not be asked to ingest any substance.

6. Do you have a challenging relationship with alcohol? (This won't preclude a restoration, I will simply use alternatives in the talisman.)

7. Divination may indicate a specific ritual connected your ancestral line. If this is required, would you say alcohol is definitely fine for everyone or is there a history of alcoholism and it would be better if I used an alternative?  

8. Additionally, there are certain rituals where I would offer food  and the protocol is that I wouldn’t offer anything that you yourself can’t eat. So if there are basic foods that you are allergic to, beyond what you've already mentioned under allergies, it's helpful for me to know the list! Thank you.

9. Some ingredients used in talismans have a stronger scent. These are all natural scents and never synthetic (which I can't tolerate myself). There are also certain pre and post restoration rituals that include fumigation with incense. There are non incense alternatives I can provide. Do you have significant sensitivities to scent and/or are you unable to work with smoke? 

10. Your process may include pouring liquid over your head, short soaking baths or anointing yourself in spots from your head to toe. We can absolutely make modifications as needed. Do you have any physical limitations or range of motion issues that you already anticipate will necessitate modification?

11. Do you have access to a bathtub if a soaking bath is required? (Again, there are easy alternatives.)

12. I may ask you to tie string around a wrist, wear something around your neck, or carry a pouch in your pocket/on your person. Is there anything about your personal or professional life that might mean you can’t wear or carry things on your wrists/neck/pocket?

13. As I've shared, the details of your talisman will be 100% determined by divination and the cost of your restoration is based on it's complexity. To reiterate, a simple talisman is not less effective and a complex talisman is not more effective. Nor as I've said, is a more complex talisman any indication of how 'messed up' you are! Sometimes less is more and sometimes more is more. And you can trust that the most effective talisman for you is the one that comes up in divination. 

I will always start by checking if the simplest (and lowest cost) option will be effective and then increase in complexity as necessary. Most talismans range between $100-$500 USD.

If you have a 'do not exceed' number I will only divine to see if a talisman can be made within that range.

18. As part of the process, I will make brief contact at the level of soul. I won't be seeing your history or affecting you in any way. This is a simple “hello at spirit” and a way to anchor the work. Please take a moment to close your eyes and affirm permission. Do you consent to soul contact?

19. Do you have any immediate questions or is there anything else you'd like me to know before I begin your divination? Normally I'm able to complete the divination within a week. If I need longer than that, I will let you know.
