I created this short painting course for communing with kindred spirits - both kin and kin by claim. I wanted a process that was basic - for beginners and advanced painters - so that the focus could be on listening instead of any technical aspect.
What I didn't expect is that the process would be so powerful personally. That my own ancestors would be right there and accessible - with such distinct personalities and with messages that that make me cry (and cry again every time I edit the video!)
I strongly recommend that you treat your time in this process as sacred. Indeed even as spiritual. I can't wait for you to try it.
I try to keep my supply list limited and the same for all my courses. So once you invest you can keep playing. Parentheses include the specific product I used, all of which I highly recommend if you are starting your art supply from scratch.
- Photo of your honoree printed in black and white on plain paper. (If you are deciding between a few photos, I strongly recommend an image that is looking straight at you - any distortion in the features can get out of control. And also I find that teeth are surprisingly hard to work with - if you've got a closed mouth option, choose that!)
- Canvas (Blick Studio Traditional 11x14)
- Medium flat brush. (I love the Da Vinci Junior Series set from Dick Blick. For this process I use the flat brushes size 4 & 10)
- Acrylic Paint in a short rainbow- red, yellow, blue, black, brown & white (Golden Fluid Acrylics in Cadmium Red Medium, Diarylide Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Raw Umber, Bone Black, & Titanium White.) Golden paints are expensive but worth it if you can swing it.
- Waterproof Black Pen (Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens “B” Brush Nib) Sharpies work great too.
- Charcoal (Vine Charcoal Jumbo Stick) pencil/watercolor pencil are workable substitutes
- Plus from around the house: Paper for journaling, jar of water, glue (I use matte medium & a credit card), hairdryer if you plan to speed through the process!
Your purchase gives you immediate and permanent access to this 2018 course. You can take the eight steps over a week or use a hairdryer to speed up the process.
Issues with signing up? For this and any course you can always send a payment via https://www.paypal.me/jenafer and I'll get you added!
