"Trouble is another word for fate; what troubles us the most is what we are fated to one day face. What troubles us in youth will return at each crossroad in life because it secretly seeks to provoke a deep awakening to the unique way that we are intended to live." Michael Meade
Perhaps you don't know the Tale of the Lindworm? Listen to Martin Shaw tell it in the engaging 10 minute video below!
As you listen, consider - which parts delight and which parts haunt?
If, like a dream, you are indeed every character in the tale, what might you find when you investigate the barrenness of the queen? What are the natures of your two flowers? What of you is bellowing challenges from the crossroads of your heart? And what will it take to scrub the scales from your own slippery serpent?
The biggest danger in a story like the Tale of the Lindworm is to believe that you are only the Golden Child and not the Worm. To pretend that you have never bitten someone's head off because of those scales you grew to survive.
Equally dangerous to believe yourself only the Worm.
So together we will set off to investigate all of it. What is your whispered longing? What is the nature of your scales? What blessed series of tasks will bring you into love?
I'm very excited to tackle this story with the energy of Spring. As this tale requires a very specific kind of bravery. It is a bravery that I believe women in particular excel at - the kind of bravery it takes to tell the truth. The kind of bravery it takes to lean towards suffering.
While the terrain has potential for deep uncomfortable digging, you won't need to "do" anything beyond show up with honest eyes. Art will show us the way. And all together we will bring the exiled twin home at last for a true chance at Radiant Contentment.
I'll be employing all my favorite inspired games - doodling, collage, writing - to supporting you in this alchemical transformation. The prompts are designed to be done in order with copious self reflection and genuine curiosity. The course will be delivered daily over ten weeks. Go at your own pace but be mindful to give yourself the time you need to really listen through the layers. I’m deeply in love with this style of art journaling and looking forward to this round with you!
The Other Flower was originally delivered to the community as an 10 week Storywalk. But you are invited to work through the prompts in the way that works for you!
There are two options for purchase: a single $50 payment gives you immediate and permanent access to this course. Or if you'd like to work with me over the next three months, I'll walk with you including three zoom calls and email communication.
(Note: this course is included in the library with any of the ongoing subscription options.)
